This vegan Jamaican Irish sea moss drink recipe blends together sea moss gel, dairy free milk, pitted dates, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a thick, creamy, and delicious beverage.

If you're looking for a refreshing drink, this recipe is a must-try! It's simple to make and easy to adapt.

What is sea moss?

Sea moss is commonly called Irish moss, carrageen moss, or chondrus crispus. It's a species of red algae grows along the Atlantic coast of Europe, the Caribbean Islands, and North America. Sea moss gel is the result from blending soaked sea moss with water.

Vegan sea moss drink ingredients

I get my Sea Moss from Herbal Vineyards, which is where I first learned about the extensive benefits, how to incorporate Sea moss into my daily life, and how to make a Sea moss smoothie. This dairy free drink comes together with 6 ingredients, in about 15 minutes from start to finish.

  • Wildcrafted sea noss gel: Use discount code JENNA5 for 5% off Herbal Vineyards products!
  • Dairy-free milk: Oat milk, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, etc.
  • Dates: To add sweetness
  • Add-ins: Vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg

How to make sea moss drink

To make this delicious Irish moss drink, follow this recipe as a guide! Feel free to alter and adjust the measurements to fit your preferences.

In a high-powered blender, combine sea moss gel, non dairy milk, dates, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend until well combined, then taste and adjust seasoning, if needed.

For a thicker smoothie, use less liquid. If it's too thick for your liking, stream in additional plant based milk until you reach your desired concisisty.

Where to buy sea moss

You can buy sea moss and sea moss gel online, but do your research to ensure it’s coming from a reputable seller.

I trust and use Herbal Vineyards sea moss products. Herbal Vineyards is located in the USA and source everything from St. Lucia in the Caribbean. Their sea moss is 100% wildcrafted, raw, and organic.

All of their products can be purchased on HerbalVineyards.com and use code JENNA5 for a 5% off discount.

I opted for half a banana instead of dates since I had none. No nutmeg either. This helped mask the taste of the sea moss for me! It’s great! Thank you!! <3

In my role as a nurse, I've seen the power of sea moss firsthand. Herbal Vineyards' sea moss, featured in this recipe, aligns with my wellness journey. Heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory – it's a delightful addition to my routine.

Thanks for the great information, the drink sounds delicious. Have ordered through your website and will add to morning smoothies for sure, as it will replace fresh spirulina (difficult to source reliably ... plus has a funky, distinctive taste hard to mask!)
Would heat (as in soups etc) destroy nutrients in Irish Moss gel?
